Author: Born to parents Ronald and Glenda Heyer, Stephon who is turning 28 on January 16 is a professional offensive player of National Football League of the team Oakland Raiders. Before joining the Raiders, he was playing for the Redskins. He was an unsigned agent with the Redskins since 2007. Unlike other football players, Stephon was a college graduate at University of Maryland where he earned the degree of criminology and criminal justice.
Steve Heyer started his football career during his high school days at Brookwood High School in Georgia. His career in the sports take a different turn while he is studying at Maryland wherein he played a total of 50 games and 37 of these games were started at left tackle. His skill and strength were noticed that a young age, it began to shine. Right after high school graduation, several football clubs wants him to be with their team. These include Alabama, Kentucky, Ohio and Florida among others.
During his freshman years on 2002, he made only one start in a total of 13 games. On 2003, he also played a total of 13 games and on 2004 he performed in 11 games and he is only 20 years old at this time. He started all of the 11 games at left tackle which is amazing at his age. On 2003, he ranked second to the teams highest rated lineman. All of these records amazed his coached and football fanatics that on 2007, he was given a chance to play in the Hula Bowl. His nasty performance opened more opportunity as a player in the ESPN.com team.
Unlike other professional football players, Steve Heyer has proven that studies and sports can go well together. He finished a degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice in the University of Maryland on 2006. He is one of the few athletes that can combine good academic grades throughout his years while in school. As of 2010 record, he played an overall 49 NFL games with good 33 starts. This means that he has 67% starting rate.
Stephon Heyer as an offensive tackle player is equipped with several skills to stop his opponents. His massive size and unsurpassed power will always secure the actual stop. Once he is in the field, it is difficult for anybody to make the actual stop for him. He has the skill to handle the ball whenever it is out of position. With these skills, he has a lot to offer in the sports and he is a good asset in his new team or any team.
